While on settings, turn off your wi fi too.

If you really want, use a short time of a strong app. Not more than 5 min.
You can also just listen to music. The power usage is next to nothing.
To use your ipod for the longest time, set it to shuffle, and only change music by double tapping the home key and pressing next. You can use it for an hour with no change on the battery symbol.
If you can, buy a recharger. The kind that plug into the bottom of your ipod and have no wires. Remember to recharge them after usage you can buy these at a local mall.
